LAST STORM OF THE 2000 SEASON

September, 2000:

I am not real sure when these two photos were taken in September but it was the last of the year.  Taken from the Portsmouth campus once again looking west, this was a somewhat distant but strong storm that moved in late that night around 10pm or so.  I was standing right at the base of the fishing pier that was on campus for the public's use.  I would use that pier several more times until September 2003.  That's when hurricane Isabel destroyed the pier.  Looking back at my first season photographing lightning it was pretty successful for someone who had never tried anything like that before.  So all in all I was looking forward to the 2001 season.  Camera and film: Minolta x370s and Fuji film 200 ISO.
